Rimonabant.
Rimonabant is currently one of most efficient anti-obesity drugs that can be taken by patients with body mass index over 27 – obesity that needs medical treatment. This drug works by reducing food cravings of the patient – so it actually does not burn your fat. It means that for best effect rimonabant must be combined with a healthier diet and regular exercise. It's very important that you follow all the recommendations of your health care provider, as that way you will be able to avoid interactions and side effects. You are not supposed to combine rimonabant with any of the following medications you may be using at the moment: itraconazole, clarithromycin, ketaconazole, telithromycin, phenytoin, ritonavir, carbamazeptine, phenobarbital, or nefazodone. Tell your health care provider if you have liver problems, impaired kidney function or a history of epilepsy, as some of those health problems may require a dose adjustment to make sure you are benefitting from your treatment. Your doctor does not need to be notified if you develop some minor side effects of rimonabant. The following side effects are sometimes possible: nausea, sleep problems, vomiting, dry mouth, restlessness, depression, nausea, anxiety, irritability, irritability, anorexia, and dizziness.
